"Give ear
to my words, O LORD; consider my meditation. Hearken
unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto
thee will I
pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD;
in the
morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look
up."
Psalm
5:1-3
Take Time To Pray
Most of the commercials, or ads we view on
television today are quite ridiculous. Many of them
don't even pertain to the product to which they are
promoting. This brought to mind, the old black and white
TV ads of decades ago, and this one particular ad I saw
not so very long ago.
Perhaps several years ago, there was a television
ad which focused on a young woman's face. She was
looking down and obviously very busy at the task before
her, although what she was doing was not shown. At the
same time she was busy with this task she was praying.
The television ad's emphasis was on taking time to pray
no matter what else we must do during the day (which, by
the way, we don't see ads like this on TV any longer).
In conclusion, as the camera moved away from this
young woman's face and down to what she was doing, it
became clear that she was diapering her baby. What a
lovely picture of how easy it is for us to talk with the
Lord!
Setting some amount of time aside every morning
might not work every day for you, but during each
twenty-four-hour day we can creatively find a portion of
time that is just for God.
Most of us are so busy during the day that we
find it increasingly difficult to set aside an amount of
time to spend in prayer ~ not just a quick prayer of
thanks, but a time of genuine communication with the
Lord.
How would we feel if God didn't have the time for
us each day? God wants this time with us and we need it
with Him! There are times we can be alone with the Lord
. . . creatively look for them!
May prayer be your key in the morning,
and the bolt on your door at night;
May He hear your supplication,
Morning, Noon and Night.
Serving in Love,
Sandy
