"For it is written,
AS I LIVE, SAITH THE LORD,
EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME,
AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS TO
GOD.
So then every one of us shall
give account of himself to God."
Romans 14:11,12
We Will Be Held Accountable!
All of us,
whoever we are and whatever our position in
life, will have to give an account of
ourselves to God.
This means
that we will have to answer to God
for our
conduct and use of our time He has given us.
This applies
to every one!
Not just the
rich or those with special talents.
All of us
have been given some possession,
gift, or
ability that we can use in His service.
God is
concerned with how we do this.
He requires
us to give an account to Him
of how we
are using what we have.
He has given
us eyes to see!
Do we use
them to behold things that are good
and
beautiful, to read His Word?
He has given
us ears to hear!
Do we use
them to listen to Him,
and respond
to the cries of the needy?
He has given
us a mouth to speak!
Are we using
it to encourage others
with words
of kindness, to pray, to witness, to praise
Him?
Are we using
our hands to help the needy?
Our feet to
rescue the troubled?
Are we
sharing our blessings with others
less
fortunate than ourselves?
Last, but
not least,
are we
following God's commandments?
One day we
will all be judged.
We
will be held accountable
for God's gift of life,
and how well
we have done with it.
"For the Son
of man shall come in the glory
of his Father
with his angels;
and then he
shall reward every man
according to
his works."
