The Lord Directs My
Steps

The birthday party was
going well and the thirteen-year-old girl was
thrilled that all of her friends could be
there to celebrate with her. Each present was
"just what she wanted." The last game to play
was Pin-The-Tail-On-The-Donkey, and everyone
was especially excited because the winner
would receive a $10 gift certificate for
pizza. When the birthday girl had her turn,
she lost her footing and stumbled on top of
several of her friends.
It was very funny, but the
girl wasn't able to get her position right
after that and she continued to try to pin the
tail everywhere except near the game's paper
donkey. When the scarf was removed from her
eyes and she saw how far she was from where
she needed to be, she said, "I certainly
needed someone to direct my steps."
God has promised to direct
our steps if we will allow Him to do so. The
plan for our lives was laid before the
beginning of time. Each morning we can go to
the Lord and have a fresh look at the
direction He would have us go that day.

When we are faced with
major decisions and need direction or
guidance, we can seek help in our Bibles.
Throughout the Scriptures there are promises
that God will show us the right path. We do
not have to go around blindfolded. Our
Heavenly Father is eager to give us wisdom.
All we need to do is ask, and He will direct
our every step.
