We sit and watch the candles glow
Their flame has a story to tell
Bringing back the secret
Memories we both know so well.
We watch the flames waver up and down
Flickering high and low
Their movement will vary slowly
As the air gently blows.
When the flames move upward
They depict the highs in our life
And flickering low once again
Tell of occasional strife.
The lighted candles bring back memories
Of yesterday’s peace and joy we felt
Precious memories live once again
As we watch the candles melt.
As our candles continue to burn
Happy priceless memories return
We give thanks to God in heaven above
For sweet memories of love.
